Harper’s Six Colors, Room by Room: Choosing Your 9 × 48 Wide Plank

October 13, 2026 · 3 min read

Harper is our 9 × 48 inch wide-plank SPC series, and it comes in six colors. They all share the same build: 6.5mm thick, a 5mm rigid core, a 22 mil SUPERION™ wear layer and a 1.5mm attached IXPE pad. So the choice comes down to color and character. Here is how each one looks in a real room and what it pairs with.

One thing all six have in common: they are high-variation designs. Expect real swings in tone and grain from plank to plank. That variation is what makes a wide floor look like wood. Order samples of your top two before you decide, and look at them in your own light at different times of day.

Light: Kinshire Abbey

A light, warm natural tone that keeps a room bright without going stark. It works with white and cream walls, light grey sofas and big windows, and it hides dust better than very pale floors. A strong pick for living rooms and bedrooms that don't get much sun.

Pairs with: white or warm-white cabinets, brushed nickel or brass, linen and oatmeal fabrics. See Kinshire Abbey

Light: Foxshire Maple

Designed after Canadian maple, with a pale, clean face. Next to Kinshire Abbey's warmer tone, it reads cooler and more modern. Good in kitchens with dark or two-tone cabinets, where it gives contrast, and in offices and studios that want a clean look.

Pairs with: black or charcoal cabinets, matte black hardware, white quartz. See Foxshire Maple

Warm: Carmel Drift

A warm honey tone with a hickory-style grain. It makes white kitchens feel lived-in and suits family rooms where you want warmth without going dark. Mid-tone colors like this are the most forgiving with crumbs, pet hair and footprints.

Pairs with: white or sage cabinets, warm wood furniture, rattan and natural textures. See Carmel Drift

Warm: Spring Oak

A golden-brown with strong grain and character, in the same hickory-inspired family as Carmel Drift. It suits traditional and transitional homes, dark leather furniture and rooms with a lot of wood trim.

Pairs with: cream walls, dark leather, bronze fixtures, framed art. See Spring Oak

Grey: Stellarnova Oak

A grey oak with enough warmth in it to keep a cool palette from feeling cold. It looks right in modern homes with white, grey or black finishes, and it is a safe choice for rentals and flips because it works with most wall colors a tenant or buyer brings.

Pairs with: white or grey walls, black accents, chrome or matte black hardware. See Stellarnova Oak

Dark: Stratford Oak

The darkest Harper color, a rich brown with a hickory-style grain. It anchors big open rooms and looks best with plenty of natural light and lighter walls. Like any darker floor, it shows dust and pet hair sooner than mid-tones, so plan on sweeping a little more often.

Pairs with: white or light grey walls, light upholstery, brass or gold accents. See Stratford Oak

Trims that match

Each Harper color has its own matching T-molding and bullnose, so doorways, room transitions and step-downs match the floor. You'll find them in the Trims section of each color's page. If you are still deciding between widths, read 7-inch or 9-inch planks.
