NGS Quartz Care & Maintenance
Please use this document to understand the care and maintenance that goes into using quartz counter tops. You can download the document to refer to below.
Taking care of your new counter top is easy, and stress free – follow the guidelines below to take care of your quartz counter top to enjoy it for many years.
- Do clean your counter top with warm water and a soft sponge. This should take care of most spills and common kitchen stains.
- For stubborn spills, use a mild liquid cleaner such as Fantastic, Simple Green or other ordinary dish washing detergents. You can use a White Scotch Brite product to erase larger spills.
- For major stains , use A-MAZ water stain remover available at your local supermarket. Use the sponge provided to handle the most extreme stains.
- Do not put hot pans, deep fryers, electric skittles, crock pots or other hot surfaces on your counter top, especially when above 300 degrees. Quartz counter tops cannot handle heat over 250-300 degrees (F). Extreme heat will leave heat marks on your counter tops which cannot be removed and are not covered by the warranty.
- Don’t allow any harsh chemicals to come into contact with your counter top such as drain cleaners, paint thinners, household acids, chloride, any products containing hydrofluoric acid, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene or any products with a very high or low PH. These chemicals etch the surface, and cause discoloration on the surface of your Quartz counters. These stains are irreversible and not covered under the NGS Warranty.
- Do not seal your counter top with any sealers. Sealers do not penetrate the surface of the Quartz counters and show an inconsistency of shine or gloss. This cannot be reversed and is not covered under the NGS Warranty.
- Do not use Comet or Ajax abrasive cleaners. Rather, use non-abrasive cleaners such as Bar Keepers Friend or A-MAZ water stain remover. Using too much of any abrasive or non-abrasive cleaner may affect the surface polish of the counter top and is not recommended. Apply the cleaner on a sample first to make sure it’s safe for use.
